Congratulations to our very own Ms. Strand who has been nominated by a student to the Teacher's Gala. The teacher's gala celebrates teacher role models all over the country.

5 Questions for Ms Strand

Why did you become a teacher?

I fell into it actually and found I loved working with teenagers. I started teaching in my 20s and loved being around teenagers and their thoughts and how they see the world and challenge us every day.

What is the best thing about your job?

The students

What do you think about being nominated for the teacher gala?

Shocked, overwhelmed

If you weren’t a teacher, what would you do for a career?

My dream job was to become a Formula 1 reporter. I have loved Formula 1 since I was a child and is the main reason why I wanted to learn English. And if not that I would be working for the UN building schools around the world.

If you were given an extra hour a day, what would you do with the time?

Sleep and/or spend more time with my kids.
