Queue Opens Today For IES Solna

As previously announced, IES will open a new school in Solna in August 2021, and families can now apply for a place.

IES Solna will be a compulsory school with grades 4-9, teaching around 770 students in total once it has grown to its full size.  During the first year we will open with grades 4-8.

IES Solna will open in a property currently being transformed into a school in the growing residential area known as Ingenting. The school will be just a short walk from Västra Skogen station, with good rail and bus links.

Anna Sörelius Nordenborg, CEO of Internationella Engelska Skolan, said: “We are delighted to open the queue for IES Solna which will welcome its first students in just over a year. Solna municipality is very supportive of IES opening in this area, where many families live but where until now few school places have been available. This school will help to fill a local need while also welcoming students from throughout Stockholm. We are proud of the trust placed in us and we look forward to contributing to the municipality with a high quality school with an international profile."

The queues for our schools operate on a first come, first-served basis and give priority to students attending the same school as a sibling.

An information evening about the new school will be planned for Autumn, with a provisional date of November 26. Once this has been arranged we will publish details on the school’s website and write to those in the queue for the school in Solna.
