“We are very happy to welcome Internationella Engelska Skolan to Österåker, the school will be a great addition to our municipality”, said Michaela Fletcher.

Mr Stenquist, who also lives in Österåker, added: “The new school will complement other schools in the municipality, and add a profile that does not exist in the area.”

More than 1100 children have been placed in the queue to attend Internationella Engelska Skolan in Österåker, including 762 who would like a place when the school opens in August 2024.

The new school will be an F-9 school with two classes per year, including a fritidshem (before and after school care). Existing buildings will be renovated or replaced with brand new, state-of-the-art facilities. The school will include a new school restaurant and an on-site kitchen to make fresh food. There will also be a new schoolyard with extensive opportunities for activities and play.
