IES Krokslätt moves to Södra Änggården 2024

We are very happy to announce that IES Krokslätt moves to the new city district Södra Änggården and changes name to IES Södra Änggården. The newly built school building will be ready to receive students in grades F-7 in August 2024, and by 2026 the school will have grown to F-9.

For many years IES has been searching for a new building for Gothenburg school IES Krokslätt. The current school building no longer meets IES building standards and it is important to supply the best learning environment for students and staff.

The development of the brand new city district of Södra Änggården is already underway, with residential areas, culture and commerce, in what is currently referred to as Högsbo in Gothenburg, and this is where IES Krokslätt moves in August 2024 and changes name to IES Södra Änggården.

The school building will be spectacular, to say the least, with a large rooftop area with space for activities, play and socializing. The school will be environmentally certified and connect the city with Änggårdsbergen’s nature areas right next door. It will be carefully positioned in the terrain to match the different ground levels, and the proximity to nature will encourage play and the joy of exploring.

Built from the ground up and completed by August 2024, it will be a school for about 900 students when full, three classes per year group, including fritids (before and after school educational care). The school will be built complete with modern facilities, including an on-site kitchen, a well-designed schoolyard and a sports hall.
