Grants are refunded
Skolverket will reclaim approximately SEK 7.7 million from Internationella Engelska Skolan. The background to this is the state grant for teacher salary increases (lärarlönelyft) for the years 2022 and 2023, where a small part of the money paid out, according to the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket), was based on incorrect grounds.
"At IES, it is of paramount importance to comply with rules and regulations. Since this was discovered, we have investigated the matter thoroughly and found that we made mistakes in the application and had shortcomings in the internal management, and that is unfortunate. During this time, we have cooperated with the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) and will now pay back the amount wrongly received. Of course, we must have routines that work," says Emma Gyllenberg, general counsel at Internationella Engelska Skolan.
