IES celebrates Fritidshemmens Dag 2023
Last week, Fritidshemmens Dag was celebrated across Fritids and Junior Clubs of IES. It was a glorious sunny day with festivities enjoyed both indoors and outdoors.

IES students, staff and parents took part in a wealth of exciting activities such as face painting, sports competitions, obstacle courses, giant bubble blowing, quizzes, film marathons, races, nail painting, giant art works, barbeques and learning how to make “pinnbröd”.
Fritidshemmens Dag has been celebrated on the second Tuesday of May across Sweden since 1987 and it is quickly becoming a highlight in the IES yearly calendar too. A lot has happened within fritidspedagogik and the fritids curriculum since the day was first introduced almost 40 years ago, but the day’s important message remain the same:
We aim to create an inspiring day and environment for our students, to highlight the importance of the work done in fritids, and last but not least, to celebrate the high quality work of our fritids staff.
Next year, Fritidshemmens dag will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 14th.
