The new term is well underway and it has been inspiring to be once again surrounded by our students and staff at IES Solna. We have welcomed the new grade 4 students who are settling in and getting used to our rounties and our grade 9 students are focused on their final year and choices before starting Gymnasiet in 2025! Time does go quickly. 

 

School Photos

Important information is on schoolsoft regarding school photos this year. There is a change to the routine with Exacta Foto. The photographer will be in school in week 40 

 

School Safety

Some parents have reached out regarding school safety due to recent school incidents in the Stockholm area. I would like to reassure you that we take every measure to keep our students safe and we follow a security and crisis plan in the case of an emergency. The support and training for safety and security is directed internally as a school, from our head quaters and also the local police and fire experts. I will outline in more details how we prevent and deal with a crisis with  more comprehensive information.

 

School Yard

We now have our basketball court open and students are enjoying this addition to the yard. Ms De Jong is doing break activities each day, and students have started playing table tennis much more than previous years! Maybe this is inspired by Swedens’ Olympic success! 

 

House activities

Our heads of house have prepared house activities for the coming months. The calendar is visible on schoolsoft! We “kick off” with a house football competition with the chance for the winning teams to watch AIK! Thank you to the house team for managing to organise this! 

 

Important Dates

October 8th and 9th : Development talks afternoons (No lessons from 12.00pm Junior Club open)

October 18th: Staff training - school and junior club closed. 

October 28th - 1st November: Höstlov 

December 20th - Last day for students and start of Christmas Break
