Principal Update
I hope you have all had a wonderful sports break! This time of year reminds us of the benefits of outdoor life and we start to enjoy the lighter days! Our students completed an amazing sports day organised by the PE department. A range of activities included skiing, skating, swimming and curling; students learned new skills, had fun with their peers and, of course, with their teachers. 

This term is as busy as ever! Students are working hard in lessons and they are making so much progress with bilingualism and reaching their full potential as they are challenged by their teachers. The grade 8 students are getting ready for PRAO and our grade 6 and 9 students are preparing for their national tests. 

As part of our work with plan mot kränkandebehanling, Fatta, an organisation dedicated to educating students on issues around consent, visited grade 8. All of our year groups continue to work with their mentors on a variety of themes to support the social and emotional development of our students. These themes can include workshops on friendship, social media usage, creating their own class mottos and so much more.

Feedback 
Solna undertakes school surveys every other year to provide helpful feedback on how we are working as a school. This survey is for grade 5 and 8 families and the link for this survey is available on SchoolSoft for parents in these year groups. In April, we will share our own IES survey. This is for all parents, students and staff in the IES organisation. Your feedback is important for us to evaluate progress and to continue to develop our students' educational provisions. 

Parent Teachers Association
As a reminder, the IES Solna Parents Teachers Association (PTA) is established and you can reach out to the board members by mail: iessolnapta@gmail.com and I encourage you to join their facebook group IES Solna PTA FB Group.

As a reminder, please do not plan vacations during term time. Students' days in school are invaluable for each day scheduled. Leave will not be granted for vacation.
