Planned new schools

In order to meet the demand from both families and municipalities for more school places, Internationella Engelska Skolan opens more schools every year. The information on this page is updated as new schools are announced or plans develop. Normally the queue for a new school will open at in early February, 18 months before the school opens.

IES Södra Änggården, August 2024

Future planned schools:

  • IES Norrtälje, proposed to open when all necessary permits are in place, will be an F-9 school for around 600 students when full, located centrally in Norrtälje.
  • IES Österåker, proposed to open in August 2023, in a central location in Österåker. This will be an F-9 school for around 600 students when full.
  • IES Södra Änggården, proposed to open in August 2024 in the new district Södra Änggården in north-east Högsbo, Gothenburg. This will be an F-9 school for around 900 students when full.
