We are now offering an adavanced learnig experience for primary school students following the Cambridge Pathway!
From August 2023, IES Skärnolmen is an accredited Cambridge International School.
This status is conferred by Cambridge International https://www.cambridgeinternational.org, which is part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment – an organisation that provides academic research, global learning and assessment, backed by teaching and research departments at Cambridge University.
We have a long standing tradition of offering Cambridge’s IGCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics to students in Year 9.
Now, however, going forward we will be integrating Cambridge’s teaching and learning resources into the work we do.
Cambridge’s teaching and learning resources are an excellent compliment to the Swedish curriculum and will help better prepare our students for further education.
Cambridge schools are part of a global community. Every year, nearly a million students around the world prepare for their future with an education from Cambridge International.
At IES Skärholmen, we see the Cambridge Pathway as a way of ensuring our students are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged – fully prepared for success in today’s international world.
It is not just good for our students, IES Skärholmen’s teachers will also benefit from access to high quality teaching and learning resources provided by Cambridge. They will also have further professional support and development.
In 2023/2024, Years 4 and Year 5 will be the first IES Skärholmen students to experience the addition of the Cambridge Pathway to their studies.
As previously, Year 9 students still have the option to prepare for IGCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics.
