Hello and welcome!

My name is Alice Horsell, and as the admissions coordinator at IES Växjö I am always excited to welcome new students. We have such a wonderful community here for students to feel safe and thrive.

I feel that we have so much to offer that it's hard to write it all here, so why not come to one of our Open Houses? Or you can book an individual visit. I try to ensure you are meeting a relevant teacher so that you can get a firsthand impression of our classrooms and structure.

If you can't meet us in person we have a Facebook and Instagram with regular content, we love to show off what our students have been up to.

Below you will find a full breakdown of our admissions process and how you can apply, but if you have any questions you are always welcome to reach out.

"When my daughter started studying at Internationella Engelska Skolan, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have fritids in the same building. Fritids makes our everyday life so much easier, and the staff are friendly, educated and extremely vigilant when it comes to the children’s safety. My daughter enjoys herself and is developing well thanks to their varied schedule of activities. Nothing but plus points here! "

Fröja, guardian to students in 1A,

IES Växjö

"I like going to school. Drawing and fritids are the best. In fritids, you can both draw and do beadwork. Ms. Antonov is really nice, and I like it when we learn about music. I know how to play the piano, and when I grow up, I want to sing. During breaks, I like to hang out on the climbing frame. I've worked hard to be able to sit on the climbing frame, and now I can!"

Aditi, class 1A,

IES Växjö

"I chose this school because I wanted my son to have clear rules and more structure. My son has learned to read Swedish in a short time, which I am very happy about. My son also has one English lesson per week, which I think is positive because I want him to learn to speak English fluently. I appreciate that the school works with clear routines and homework, as this helps my son get used to schoolwork. I also think it is good to receive monthly feedback on my son's progress."

Lina, guardian to student in class FA,

IES Växjö

"I like going to school. I am happy and have many friends. When the teacher writes on the board I learn faster. Technology is the best subject. I have a kind teacher who helps me when I need help. "

Enya, class 2A,

IES Växjö

"Starting f-class is a big transition. My goal as a teacher is to create a safe and stimulating environment where children can develop at their own pace and discover the joy of learning. Through a balance of free and structured activities, children have the opportunity to develop both their cognitive skills and social abilities. I strive to ensure that every child feels safe, included and challenged according to their own abilities."

QUEUE AND SIBLING PRIORITY

Important information about the queue

  • Places are offered in order of queue date. The earlier you register your child in the queue, the greater the chance of being offered a place at the school.

  • The earliest you can register your child in the queue is 1 February in the year after they are born.

  • Sibling priority may apply. For this to be valid, the sibling(s) must already be enrolled at, or still attending, an IES school when the other child starts.

Admissions Process: Step by Step

How to apply for the queue

To place your child in the queue, you create an account on our website by logging in with BankID, where you enter your personal data. If you are missing a Swedish BankID, download the application form at the bottom of this page and email it to admissions. If you do not have a Swedish personal identification number, please contact us directly, and we will help you further.

In the next step, you confirm your email address. Check your spam folder if you have not received it. Once your email is confirmed, you can proceed with the application.

  • Your child’s personal identity number (YYYYMMDD-NNNN).
  • Add any siblings to the application, as sibling priority may apply.
  • Register the contact details of all guardians (this information is important – if a place is offered, all guardians must accept before the child can start at the school). Guardian 2 will also receive a verification email.
  • Select school, start of the academic year, and year level. Keep in mind that children in Sweden usually start 'förskoleklass' the year they turn 6.
All registered guardians will receive a confirmation email once a queue place has been created for your child.
Please get in touch with the school if you have not received a confirmation email after completing your registration.

You can, at any time, log in via our website and manage your information, such as your desired start year or adding siblings.

If your child receives a placement offer, you log in to the ‘queue login’ via our website with BankID. After that, you make an active choice to confirm the offer. We will then send all the information you need before the start of school.
