After one year of work on sustainability, IES Solna has been successfully awarded the Green Flag, which is run by Håll Sverige Rent.
The environment committee of IES Solna has arranged and managed various activities that help to raise awareness of sustainable development. The activities covered themes such as stopping food waste, plastic workshops, developing the school garden, and paper recycling. They even had a “Trashion” spirit day that encouraged students to use recycled materials to create their own fashion outfits.
The person responsible for the project at IES Solna, mentor and teacher Cathy Weng, said: “We have had our environment committee for two years already and our committee members have contributed great effort, especially thank you to Nandan from 6B and Lo from 7C. The members are very proud of their achievements. We also received strong support from our principal. We will continue to work on sustainability next year and we wish we can have a green flag always fly over our school.”
