ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Our school library

Our library is a welcoming, inspiring, and quiet space where students can come to read, study, or focus on their homework.

  • Location: Second floor, across from the Nurse’s office

  • Contact: Mr. Teles (rodrigo.teles.landskrona@engelska.se)

Our Collections

At our school library, students can find a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction titles in both English and Swedish. Every student from F–9 has a library account and can borrow books using their library cards. While books can be brought home, we expect students to be responsible and take excellent care of all borrowed items.

Digital Resources

We provide powerful digital tools to support our students' research, curiosity, and daily learning:

  • NE.se: Students have full access to the Swedish national encyclopedia online. It offers interactive maps, charts, diagrams, videos, articles, and other written entries to support academic research.

  • Illustrerad Vetenskap: A fantastic resource for students to explore science, history, and technology through engaging, deeply researched articles and visuals.

  • SvD Junior: A current-affairs platform tailored for younger readers, helping students stay informed about world events in an accessible, age-appropriate way.

Legimus & Inläsningstjänst

We are committed to making reading accessible to everyone. Students who need a Legimus audiobook account can apply directly through the school library.

  • Note: If a student already has a Legimus account registered at a former school or the Landskrona town library, we highly recommend switching ownership to our school library for faster, more direct support.

  • For students who are not eligible for Legimus, we provide an Inläsningstjänst subscription, which is available for all students to use.

Library Student Leadership & Activities

Meet Our Library Ambassadors!

We are proud to have 5 dedicated Library Ambassadors who meet weekly to bring the library to life! Spot them around the school in their official, custom-branded IES Library Ambassador T-shirts.

Our ambassadors are a core part of our library community. They help with book selections, recommend great reads to their peers, and organize fantastic activities, including:

  • Exciting book quizzes

  • Tailored book clubs for different age groups and interests (such as our popular Tuesday Book Club for Year 3 during fritids!)

Celebrating Our Readers

We love to reward a passion for reading! We run two major reading competitions to celebrate our students' literacy achievements:

🏆 Top Reader of the Month By the end of each month, the student who has read the most books wins a gift card to Akademibokhandeln.

👑 Top Reader of the Year At the end of the school year, our ultimate top reader takes home an even bigger grand prize, alongside an official diploma and trophy!
