Who is JieLi Wu?

It's time to get to know the teachers and staff who will meet the preschool class children at IES Kista in the autumn! Next up is preschool class teacher JieLi Wu.

What did you do before you started at IES?
I worked as a high school teacher for four years in China. After I came to Sweden, I studied Swedish and then studied at Stockholm University to get a Swedish teaching licence.

What’s the best thing about your job?
I love to teach and share my knowledge with the students, and it's a good feeling to see the students mastering what I have been teaching. Another thing that I like is to see the students grow and develop through their school years.

What do you think IES Kista is good at?
There's a very good cooperation between staff, we help and support each other. The school is also very thorough with the planning and documentation.

Which one is your favourite song right now?
“Heroes are calling” by Smash Into Pieces.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, a leopard gecko. I want to have a dog in the future.

Tell something about yourself not many people know.
I speak four languages.

What was your favourite subject in school?
Geography!

Do you have any dreams for the future?
I want to travel to different parts of the world.

What do you do to peak the children's interest and desire to learn new things?
I try to build good relationships with the students, that way I can find out what they already know, what they need to practice more on and what they are interested in. When you know these things, it will be easier for me to create classes that are interesting and fun for the students.

What is your favourite memory with your F-class?
This is my first time working with F-class, so I am just looking forward to meeting them!
