ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Our school library

Our library is a welcoming and quiet space where students can come to read, study, or do their homework

The IES Kista School Library has approximately 3,500 books. Among the different types of books available to borrow there are fiction books, factual books, biographies, sport, history, comic books and manga books.

In addition to borrowing books, many of the IES students also use the library for a place for quiet reading and or to do school work on the library computers. It is free to borrow the library books and all IES Kista students automatically become a member.

School Librarian Mr Wall says: "We know that improved reading skills have positive effects and will surely benefit the students also in other areas. It follows that it is tremendously important to have easy access to literature, both fiction and non fiction, and of course to provide a good environment for it. I’m going to do whatever I can to make that come true! Other things, such as being able to navigate social media and even understanding source criticism early on are important, so that’s also something we need to focus on."

For more information about the IES Kista school library please visit the library and speak to Mr Wall.
