Who is Daniela Gaseva?

It's time to get to know the teachers and staff who will meet the preschool class children at IES Kista in the autumn! First up is preschool class teacher Daniela Gaseva.

What did you do before you started at IES?
I was a teacher in my home country for 10 years.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Every day is different, full of joy, fun and learning with my students. One of the greatest rewards of teaching is seeing the progress of your students. From when students understand a difficult concept, to helping children learn a new skill, seeing a child's eyes light up after grasping a new piece of knowledge is priceless. Teaching is a career to be proud of.

What do you think IES Kista is good at?
We work together as a team: teachers and students. We are a multicultural school which celebrates and supports every student.

Which one is your favourite song right now?
“Unforgettable” by Marcus & Martinus.

Do you have any pets?
I don't have any pets, but I love animals.

Tell something about yourself not many people know.
My first work experience here in Sweden was Home Cleaner.

What was your favourite subject in school?
English language.

Do you have any dreams for the future?
Travelling around the world by train, with my daughters.

What do you do to peak the children's interest and desire to learn new things?
Make learning fun. Even seemingly dry subjects can become more fun through songs, academic games or creative activities.

What is your favourite memory with your students?
Making soup bubbles in the backyard. When they crack into the noses of my students I get the most beautiful and sincere smiles from them. I love my job!
