IES Kista Win Senior Boys Football Tournament

IES Kista were the overall winners in the annual IES Senior Boys Football Tournament held on Wednesday 22nd February. Playing against another seven schools, the students played four games to win the trophy. 

In the first game IES Kista played IES Liljeholmen and won 3-1. They won the next match against IES Solna 3-0, winning the group to qualify for the semi-final. 

After being 3-1 up in the semi-final against IES Länna the match ended in a 3-3 draw. After golden goal there was a penalty shootout with our goalkeeper saving two penalties and Mohammed scoring the decisive penalty. 

In the final against IES Enskede, after going 3-1 up, the game ended 4-4 and after another golden goal the match also went to penalties. Goalkeeper Ulugbek scored the final and decisive penalty to win the tournament.

Mr Raftery, Head of Aesthetics and Sports Clubs Organiser, said: "The final was a highly intense and heated game with both teams really wanting to win the tournament. After a lot of hard team work IES Kista deservedly won the tournament."

"We are now Pingis Basketball and Football champions and look forward to junior school boy’s competition which will be on March 10th followed by our Junior school girl’s competition," he said.
