The founder of Internationella Engelska Skolan, Ms Barbara Bergström, has emphasised the importance of nutrition in an educational environment for many years.  

We focus on school food in our school and always offer several dishes, including a vegetarian alternative. In addition to the main courses, there is also a salad buffet with hard bread. As for drinks, the students can choose between milk and fresh water. 

Lunch at Engelska Skolan Karlstad is an important part of the school day. We want students to have a nice and relaxing time while socializing at the lunch tables. In order to create this nice environment teachers are always scheduled to eat lunch together with the students every day.

Our Food Council

IES Karlstads Food Council  meets each term together with the Principal. The council consists of students from every year group, the school nurse and the kitchen staff and principal.

Allergi

Om en specialdiet krävs av medicinska skäl (dvs matallergier eller andra sjukdomar), lämnas en dietlista samt ett intyg från läkare eller dietist till skolsköterskan.

If a special diet is required for medical reasons (ie food allergy or other illness), a certificate from a doctor or dietician should be submitted to the school nurse.
