International Literacy Day is celebrated all over the world and also here at IESV.
The Swedish and the English departments have, together with the Library, organised a few activities for our students today, to show them that literacy is one of the key things to master in life.
Year 4 has been writing a short story about a superhero they feel is missing from the world today. With the help from students in year 8, they wrote their stories in English. The stories will all be put together in a book that can be read in our library.
Year 5 has started their spelling bee in Swedish, which will be going on during the year with the finals taking place live at the Spring Festival 2023.
Year 6 have been working with storytelling this term, and therefore their challenge was to write a story, with all the tricks of the trade that they have learnt, in a lesson. They only had a picture as inspiration, and they had to tell us what happened before the picture, and what happened after.
Year 7 has started their spelling bee in English, which will be going on during the year with the finals taking place live at the Spring Festival 2023.
Year 8 was helping the year 4s with their stories in English.
