April Fools Birthday Fun for Students at IES

Staff at IES celebrated April Fools by wearing party hats and claiming it was a special birthday. Students enjoyed the festive atmosphere before realising it was a clever prank.

At Internationella Engelska Skolan, we believe that a great school culture is built both inside and outside the classroom. On 1 April, our staff decided to bring a touch of humour to the school day. Every staff member arrived wearing a brightly coloured party hat, telling students that they were celebrating a very important birthday.

The students were initially curious and joined in the celebratory spirit. However, it did not take long for them to identify the date and realise they had been part of an April Fools prank.

This initiative is part of our commitment to pastoral care. We aim to create an atmosphere where students flourish, feel well, and build trust with the adults in the school.

Key highlights of the day:

Festive Atmosphere: Staff wore party hats throughout the day to create a safe, calm, and stimulating environment.

Student Well-being: The prank encouraged positive interaction between students and teachers, which is a core part of the IES model.

Quick Thinking: Students showed great spirit in quickly working out the April Fools joke.
