Östersund

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a small, self-governing body made up of parents and staff from IES Östersund.  The members of the PTA should share an interest in supporting the school, its students and staff. The committee will meet once or twice a term and welcome new parents and carers to attend. The meetings will have the purpose of being a creative space where members can suggest and plan fun events which will support the school’s culture and ethos.  For example, arranging and running school discos and outdoor cook-outs.  The meetings will be open to all parents of IES Östersund students to attend. Any member of staff can also join the PTA and a member of the Leadership team will also be present at meetings.

Through the PTA, parents and staff work alongside one another to raise money for extra equipment and resources which will improve the school’s learning facilities and opportunities for students throughout the school. This is achieved through a number of social events throughout the year. 

Joining the PTA is a good opportunity for you to meet other parents and to be able to be part of a team that adds even more value to the IES Östersund school experience.
