Who is Valeria Werner?
It's time to get to know all the teachers and staff who will meet the students at IES Österåker in the autumn! Next up is Social studies and Swedish teacher Valeria Werner.
My name is Ms. Werner, and I will be teaching Social Studies and Swedish in grade 4 when school starts this fall. I grew up in Åkersberga but have been living in Vara, near Gothenburg, for the past few years. Before joining IES Österåker, I worked at both IES Täby and IES Gothenburg. I am married, and together with my husband, we have two wonderful children who have now moved out for studies and work. The oldest lives in Åre, and the youngest in Gothenburg. Both are former IES students!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Reading and watching movies are also major interests of mine. Currently, I am reading many books that are related to antiquity or involve time travel in some way. One of my favorite movies is "Logan's Run," a classic dystopian sci-fi film from 1976.
As a teacher, I believe it is important to build good relationships and be a trustworthy adult in the classroom. This, combined with varied and creative lessons, creates the best conditions for our students to succeed in school.
