We welcome Peter Fyles as principal for IES Norrtälje
We are happy to announce that Peter John Fyles is back with IES, this time as principal for the new school in Norrtälje. Mr Fyles has a long background in education, in and outside of IES.
Peter John Fyles is an Englishman who has been involved in education all his life. He has three university degrees and is a qualified teacher. He first moved to Sweden in 1997 and started work at the original Engelska skolan, alongside Founder Barbara Bergström, in Enskede in 1998.
“I’m glad to be back in the IES family, which I was a part of almost from the beginning," Mr Fyles says. “I’m a strong believer in the IES ethos and in creating an environment where teachers can teach and students can learn.”
In 2003 he became the first principal for IES Gävle and shortly after that, Mr Fyles became the CEO of IES and he expanded the company from 5 schools to 23 schools in the space of eight years.
“I know there is a demand all over Sweden for schools with our international profile and high academic expectations and aspirations. I’m looking forward to building that kind of school in my hometown, Norrtälje”, says Mr Fyles.
Mr Fyles has been a resident of Norrtälje since 2017 and has three children: Alice, John and Billy. Besides being an educator Mr Fyles is also a renowned and resilient triathlete.
