Our Commitment to Fundamental Values (Grundläggande värden)

At our school, the Grundläggande värden—democracy, human rights, equality, and respect for each individual—are not just words in a document. They are the foundation of everything we do, guiding our teaching, our relationships, and the way we shape our school environment.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Our school library

Reading is the key to successful learning, and we encourage all our students to read as much as possible. Reading is an important part of the school day at IES Nacka. Year 4-6 all have "reading" as a class in their schedules, and all students have books in their desks to read when they finish with any class work.

We have a large school library where our librarian, Ms. Skoogh, helps each student find books that are to their taste, and suitable for their skill level. We have a large selection of books in both English and Swedish - classics as well as modern best sellers.

Classes often spend time in the library to choose new books and students are more than welcome to drop in on their breaks to read, use a computer for school work or play chess.

The library also hosts cultural events and promotes reading through themes and displays, competitions and celebrations. A love of reading is promoted and encouraged, all throughout the school.
