Welcome back to IES Landskrona for a historic school year

IES Landskrona welcomes students back for its 10th academic year, marking a milestone as its pioneer F-class reaches Year 9 to complete the F–9 journey.

Mr Duncan, principal of IES Landskrona

Welcome back to a brand new academic year at IES Landskrona. We hope our students and families enjoyed a relaxing summer break and are ready for an exciting year ahead.

This academic year marks a truly special milestone for our school community. As we enter our 10th year of delivering quality education in Landskrona, we are also celebrating a first for the entire Internationella Engelska Skolan organization. The students entering Year 9 this term were the very first children to walk through our doors in F-class when IES Landskrona opened in 2017. They are now set to become the first student group in IES history to complete their entire primary and lower secondary school journey (F–9) at the same school.

Since opening in 2017, IES Landskrona has remained committed to providing a safe, calm, and structured learning environment where knowledge is at the heart of everything we do.

Our focus continues to be on delivering a strong bilingual education. By conducting up to half of our teaching in English alongside Swedish, we prepare our students to command both languages at a high level. This dual language foundation equips students with the confidence and academic skills needed for upper secondary school, higher education, and an increasingly international future.

Key highlights as we start the new school year:

  • A Historic First: Our Year 9 students mark the first group across IES to complete their full F–9 education within one school.

  • 10 Years in Landskrona: Celebrating nearly a decade of high academic expectations and strong school culture.

  • Bilingual Environment: Teaching in both Swedish and English to foster language fluency and global opportunities.

  • Focus on Knowledge: Teacher-led learning in a calm, safe environment that supports every student.

We look forward to working together with guardians and students to make this milestone year our best one yet. Welcome back!

Mr Duncan, principal.
