IES Landskrona welcomes five schools for football tournament

IES Landskrona hosted a successful football tournament for five schools, bringing together students and staff to celebrate school culture and athletic grit.

One of the many benefits of being an international school with multiple locations is the opportunity to collaborate and bring students together. This tournament was originally the brainchild of IES Staffanstorp, and IES Landskrona had the privilege of hosting the event this year.

Students from year four to nine participated, representing five IES schools: Landskrona, Staffanstorp, Trelleborg, Lund, and Helsingborg.  Due to the high level of interest, a lottery system was used to ensure a fair selection of players.

The day was a true community effort:

  • Student Initiatives: Year nine students managed a cafeteria to raise funds for their end-of-year class trip.

  • Facilities: Tents were organised for lunch and medical support to ensure a safe and calm environment for everyone.

  • Excellence and Grit: In the face of tough competition, IES Landskrona students showed great perseverance.

The tournament ended on a high note for us as the host school. IES Landskrona won all three available trophies. The year 4/5 team faced Staffanstorp in the semi-finals, while the year 6/7 and year 8/9 teams competed against Helsingborg. Ultimately, the endurance and grit of our students prevailed.

A significant thank you goes to Ms Engelbrecht and the teachers from IES Landskrona who arranged the day, as well as the visiting staff and students who made the event possible. We look forward to seeing which school will host the tournament next year.
