Gymnasium choices for Year 9 students at IES Landskrona

As the school prepares for the upcoming graduation ceremony, IES Landskrona looks back with pride at the success of last year's graduating class.

The current Year 9 students are getting ready to graduate, and it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the foundations laid by the previous cohort. The 2025 graduates at Internationella Engelska Skolan Landskrona achieved the highest average qualification level in the municipality. These academic results allowed them to transition into popular university preparation programmes with strong confidence.

Recent statistics show that the vast majority of IES Landskrona graduates choose university preparation programmes, whilst only a few per cent opt for vocational paths.

The most popular choices for the 2025 graduates included:

  • Economics Programme: 19 students selected this pathway to develop their understanding of business and markets.

  • Social Science Programme: 13 students chose this line of study.

  • Natural Science Programme: Eight students enrolled in this rigorous academic track.

The Advantage of Grit and English The bilingual focus at IES provides students with a significant edge. Graduates report feeling highly confident in their ability to express themselves fluently, which helps them achieve high grades at gymnasium.

IES also fosters grit, which means a strong fighting spirit and the courage to challenge oneself. The school support system, including dedicated special educators, works closely with students in Year 7 to Year 9 to develop essential life strategies. This targeted work includes developing effective study structures, balancing academic commitments with sports and rest, and taking personal responsibility for progress.

A Smooth Transition to Senior School Moving into Year 7 is a significant step for young people. To ensure students hit the ground running, IES Landskrona prioritises a safe, calm environment and high levels of predictability. In Year 7, students are based in a specific part of the school with dedicated home rooms. These serve as a consistent base, reducing stress and helping students maintain focus and social confidence as they navigate senior school.
