Kungsbacka

It is a great honour and privilege to be appointed as Principal of IES Kungsbacka. I hope that I can build a school with an outstanding staff and fantastic facilities that will make Kungsbacka proud.

I have always been involved in education, leaving Glasgow University in 1984 and relocating in London. My big move to Sweden came in 1995 and since then I have worked with adults, F-9, Upper Secondary and Special Needs schools both as a teacher and as a Principal. However, it is only since I arrived at IES in 2018 that I finally had the opportunity to practice many of the ideas and beliefs that I think are essential for students to flourish and develop. Our ethos at IES -bilingualism, calm and safe environment and the high expectations and aspirations - are all essential building blocks for our new school and will be embraced strongly.

My background in sports has always been important to me as an educator and Principal. I believe in activity, team building and healthy competition as well as focus and feedback. My main objective is to lift our students to give them the ability to succeed and excel in whatever they decide to do after IES.

I hope we can work together, communicate effectively and help one another in the years to come and make IES Kungsbacka the school we all want it to be - a school where we are all in this together and stronger for that.
