This year, I will focus on educating staff and implementing teaching strategies based on Tom Sherrington's ten principles from Rosenshine's Principles in Action. This book delves into effective teaching methods rooted in cognitive science and the research of educational psychologist Barak Rosenshine. It outlines ten key principles for effective instruction, such as clearly stating learning objectives, providing frequent practice, and offering timely feedback. By emphasizing these principles, we aim to enhance student understanding and engagement, ultimately improving teaching practices and student outcomes in the classroom.

This year, I will be focusing on expanding students' knowledge through various cultural experiences. This will largely be done through "Skapande skola" and themed days. My aim is to give students a broader understanding of society and the world around them. By collaborating with local actors, we will also highlight what Karlstad and its surroundings have to offer. This year, students will have the opportunity to attend theater performances and workshops through "Kunskapsteater," enriching their learning experience in new and engaging ways.

This year, I will be focusing on coaching as a pedagogical mentor for newly hired colleagues, and supporting other staff if necessary. My aim is to listen and provide guidance to help them succeed in their professional roles. I'll be there to assist in their development, offering the support they need to grow and thrive in their careers.

This year I will be focusing on marketing for our school. This will largely focus on our social media channels. My aim is to showcase the many parts of our school that represent our ethos and what we do each day. In the past, I have created different web series about Student Care to showcase the services available at school, and the Academic Year in Review to showcase the projects worked on in class.  This year, I'll be posting weekly reviews of what is happening at school, bringing in more video content to represent daily activities and more!

This year, I will be focusing on building a new PTA board at our school. The goal of the PTA is to increase visibility at the school and foster a strong sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. The PTA can help organise social events, family-oriented activities, and other collaborations that strengthen the school community. According to Skolverket, students benefit when there is a trusting and well-functioning partnership between the school and guardians.
