Our queue runs on a first-come, first-served basis, in the interests of fairness for all. However, if your child has a sibling who currently attends the school, and if both of your children will be students at the school at the same time, then they may be entitled to advanced placement in the queue (syskonförtur). In this case please write the sibling’s Swedish ID number in the appropriate box when applying for any other children.
A number of IES schools are registered at Skolinspektionen for a possibility to dedicate a limited number of places in the queue for students who have been resident in the country for less than two years, in Swedish called "särskild kvot" which is regulated in förordning (2022:222) om särskild kvot i fristående skolor. These schools have the possibility to prioritize newly arrived students in the queue. Enrolling in the school depends on the available free spots in each year group. Please contact the school you are applying to for more information and to ask if they are registered for this possibility.
At IES Hässelby, we start the admissions process at the end of the autumn semester of the current year for the following academic years. The admission process takes a different amount of time depending on how quickly we receive responses from the families who have been offered a place.
If you would like more information about where we are in the process, please contact us via admissions.hasselby@engelska.se.
You can't. Each school has its own queue, and it is not possible to move between them. However, it is possible to join the queue for more than one school at the same time.
Write to the school in question and let them know your queue ID number or personnummer and the information that you would like to change.
You can reach us at admissions.hasselby@engelska.se.
The process for the student intake starts the year before they start grade 4. During the fall term we reach out to everyone in the queue to ensure that they A, want to be in the queue and B, are still interested to start in grade 4.
In January we send out offers of placement to the first 96 children in the queue. After that the intake is an ongoing process during the spring and we send out new offers as soon as we have confirmation that someone has declined an offer.
To ensure that we reach everyone in the queue we use several methods of reaching out when an offer has been made.
Admission HT23
The academic year 23-24 has now started and we still have places available in grades 5 and 8. The places will continue to be offered after the queue time.
