The leadership group of Internationella Engelska Skolan is responsible for ensuring that all parts of the organisation function at the highest level, within their area of expertise.
Mr Lars Jonsson
CEO
As CEO, Mr Lars Jonsson is ultimately responsible for the entire organisation and its operations. Mr Jonsson first joined IES as CFO in 2020 and was responsible for the financial strategy of the company and its long-term financial stability. Prior to joining IES he worked as Head of Financial Control & Treasury at the international cash handling company Loomis AB.
Ms Linda Ahrgren
Head of Business Development
Linda Ahrgren joined 2024 and is responsible for Business Development, which also includes, security, property, IT, admission. Most recently she was the CEO at the FinTech company Assently, CEO at the EdTech company Digilär. Previously that she held several roles with focus on sustainable growth and transformation, such as Head of Digital at the publishing company Natur & Kultur. She also held several leading roles in EF English First which has 300 schools worldwide and is part of the EF Education Group in business development as well as part of the management.
Mr Joakim Andersson
Regional Director South
Overall management responsibility for the schools in Region South, focused on operational performance, financial stability and leadership with high quality standards and delivery in line with IES ethos. Mr Andersson has been a Regional Director since 2020. Previously he was the principal for IES Helsingborg and has also worked as a principal in municipal schools and at Kunskapsskolan.
Ms Gina Eriksson
Regional Director Central
With overall management responsibility for the schools in Region Central focused on operational performance, financial stability and leadership with high quality standards and delivery in line with the IES Ethos. Ms Ericsson started working at IES Enskede as a teacher and Head of English in 2008. After being Assistant Principal in Enskede, she moved to take on the Principal role for IES Täby for 9 years, before taking on the Regional Director role in 2020.
Ms Frida Berg
Head of Communication
Frida Berg is responsible for IES' internal and external communication, branding, PR, marketing and sustainability. She most recently comes from a position at Spotify, where she held the role of Head of Communications and PR for the EMEA region. She has previously been an owning partner of the communications agency Geelmuyden Kiese, where she worked as senior advisor and CEO. She has also been chief press officer for McDonald's Sweden.
Ms Catarina Friborg
Head of HR
Ms Friborg is responsible for driving the organisation’s HR-strategy including talent management and leadership development as well as ensuring that school leadership teams can access the best support for HR matters.
Her background includes roles as head of HR at Capio St Göran’s Hospital as well as senior HR director at Arla Foods, HR director for for Sweden, Nordics & Baltics at MSD and head of HR Nordic at Salon Professional (Wella).
Ms Emma Gyllenberg
General Counsel
Ms Gyllenberg joined Internationella Engelska Skolan in 2023 as general counsel. She leads the legal team, provides legal advice throughout the organisation and oversees all legal matters in the company. Ms Gyllenberg has broad legal experience from various companies and sectors and at law firms. Most recently she was head of legal nordics for healthcare provider Kry.
Ms Robin Kirk Johansson
Head of Education
Ms Kirk Johansson has the overall responsibility for the IES systematic quality work as well as the coordination and delivery of support targeting the educational quality in IES schools. In the defined role as Skolchef, the assignment is to support the huvudman to ensure that the operations follow the regulations applicable for the education provided. Ms Kirk Johansson has previously been a principal for IES Borås and COO of IES Sweden. She is also an educated teacher from the USA.
Dr Helena Luning
Director of Student Health
Dr Lüning joined Internationella Engelska Skolan in 2016 and is since 2017 responsible for Student Health, which includes medical, psychological and psychosocial activities. The role involves quality management of student health and developing health and psychological initiatives with a special focus on preventive healthcare in our schools. Dr Lüning holds special exams in both paediatrics and children psychiatry. Prior to joining Internationella Engelska Skolan she already had nearly 20 years experience of clinical work within her areas of expertise.
Mr Marcus Segerstedt
Regional Director North
As Regional Director for Region North, Mr Marcus Segerstedt oversees school operations, leadership, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with the IES ethos. Since joining IES in 2001, he has contributed to schools in Enskede, Järfälla, and Bromma, holding roles such as teacher, Head of Department, and Principal.
Appointed Principal at IES Bromma in 2016, Mr Segerstedt built a thriving school culture with exceptional teachers, strong academic results, and high satisfaction among staff, students, and guardians. He is deeply committed to high expectations, bilingualism, and creating a calm, focused learning environment.
Mr Magnus Stöde
CFO
Mr. Stöde first joined IES as Head of Business Control in 2022, where he was responsible for the budget and financial planning processes, as well as financial analysis and monitoring. This included presenting relevant decision-making information to the management team and board of directors. Mr. Stöde has over 20 years of experience from various roles within finance, including business control, mergers and acquisitions, finance management and audit.
Ms Linda Öholm
Head of Public Affairs
As Head of Public Affairs at IES, Linda Öholm is tasked with fostering IES' relationships across society, including government agencies, politicians and civil society organizations, at both local and national levels. This involves spreading knowledge about IES's contributions to the Swedish school system and addressing issues that are significant to IES.
Linda has extensive experience from politics and public affairs, ranging from the international to municipal level, including several years working in different positions at both the Government's office and Parliament in Sweden.
