Hands2Ocean x IESV
After a great start to the new academic year for our Year 7 students, we were part of a collaboration with the Hands2Ocean (H2O) Project. The purpose of this initiative is to remove toxins from Lake Mälaren & the Baltic Sea and to raise public awareness so that people do not continue to throw their garbage into our beautiful and fragile aquatic environment.
On Tuesday 2nd September, our students helped to retrieve items from the Svartån River that had been hidden in the murky water.
2nd September 2025 - The Dive Day
Our students were instrumental in the Dive Day activities, which also involved a lot of information that will be used in their Science studies back at school. Throughout the Dive Day, they also completed stations that tested their knowledge of sustainability, as well as communication and media; discussing how to reach the public most effectively through social media channels.
What happens to the materials we find?
Our innovative Art department will now use our treasures that were raised from the depths of Svartån to create artistic sculptures that will be displayed around our school. These will be a part of our H2O x IESV Art Exhibition throughout this year.
