Thursdays-Fridays 8.15-10.30 and 12.00-13.00

The library can occasionally be closed during these hours due to class visits, meetings or other activities.Books can be returned at any time on the return shelf just outside of the library.

YF-3 have library visits booked weekly and visits the library together with their teacher. During these visits the students will get to know the books and genres in the library, find information in our non fiction books and learn about libraries and information knowledge.

Y4-9 can visit the library during their breaks and after school to read, borrow books and study. Our librarian also visits these classes regularly to teach the students about media and information knowledge and have book talks.

The library’s book collection consists of both fiction and nonfiction books for all students in the school. The books are divided into age groups and genres for example adventure, mystery, sports and romance. We also have books about social emotional learning and character education. Our library supports not only the academic growth for our students, but also cherishes their love of reading and curiosity of the world. We have literature in both Swedish and English and a growing collection of books in other native languages of our students. 

Each student from förskoleklass to year 9 at IES Upplands Väsby has their own library account through which they can borrow books from the library collection. The account is also accessible from home. Students are allowed to bring the books home to continue reading in their home environment. We trust our students to take care of the books and keep them in good condition for others to enjoy them as well.
