After-school care

We offer after-school care for all students in Grades F–6, both before and after the school day

When you are working or studying, your child may attend the after-school care centre during the time you are working or studying, plus travel time. You are responsible for registering your child’s attendance times in the after-school care centre’s digital attendance system (SchoolSoft). When you are on holiday or during school breaks, your child does not attend the after-school care centre.

Breakfast is served between 07:30–07:50 on regular school days.
We spend time outdoors every morning after breakfast throughout the school year.
A snack is served between 14:00–14:45 on regular school days.

The after-school care centre is a safe and stimulating environment where students can spend time both before and after the school day. Our activities are based on the curriculum and the national goals for after-school care, where care, development, learning, and meaningful leisure time form a whole.

We work consciously according to the curriculum in close cooperation with the school and teaching staff to create a clear connection between the school day and the activities at the after-school care centre. Through shared themes, projects, and traditions, we strengthen students’ learning and give them opportunities to develop in different contexts.

The educators offer a variety of activities based on the students’ needs, interests, and the goals of the curriculum. The activities encourage curiosity, creativity, physical activity, play, and social interaction. Students have the opportunity to try new things, develop their abilities, and participate in activities they find meaningful and enjoyable.

During their time at the after-school care centre, students have the opportunity to meet new classmates from different classes, build social relationships, and take part in group activities and games. We place great importance on participation and influence, and we actively work to ensure that students’ voices and interests help shape the content of our activities, in line with the curriculum’s goals regarding children’s participation and responsibility.

Some of the activities we offer: Sports Club, Arts and Crafts, homework support, Chess Club, textiles, and much more!

Parental leave and after-school care:

Parents or guardians on parental leave with students in preschool class up to and including Grade 3 are offered a place at the after-school care centre for ten hours per week, except during the school’s holiday periods, when you as a parent are on parental leave with a younger sibling.

If your child needs more than ten hours per week at the after-school care centre due to your studies or work, an application for extended attendance time during parental leave must be completed and sent to sebastian.boos.trelleborg@engelska.se together with a certificate confirming employment or studies.

Parents or guardians on parental leave with a student in Grades 4–6: your child is not entitled to a place at the after-school care centre when you are on parental leave with a younger sibling. The place will be terminated one month after the sibling’s birth. If your child needs a place at the after-school care centre due to special circumstances, please contact the principal.

After-school care during school holidays:

Before each school holiday, you must submit your child’s attendance times four to six weeks in advance. This allows us to plan the number of educators needed, how much food to prepare, and which activities we will offer.

During holidays and school closure days, breakfast is served at 07:30.
Lunch is served at 11:00 during holidays and school closure days.
A snack is served at 14:00 during holidays and school closure days.
