Introduction from Your New SYV – Carla Hartburn

We are happy to welcome our new Studie- och yrkesvägledare (SYV) at IES Täby, who brings many years of experience, dedication, and passion for supporting students in shaping their futures.

Dear parents,

I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Studie- och yrkesvägledare (SYV) at IES Täby. I have been a member of the staff since 2011, working as a senior school science teacher and Head of Department. Moving into this new role, I am looking forward to supporting students in planning their educational journeys and future careers.

As part of my role, I will meet with students individually and in groups to provide guidance on their studies, further education opportunities, and possible career paths. This includes supporting PRAO in Years 8 (week 22 & 23) and 9 (week 50), advising on gymnasium selection and applications, and helping students explore future job options.

I will also be organising engaging events in collaboration with local businesses and leading our visit to Gymnasiemässan in November, giving students valuable opportunities to learn more about their choices.
