IES Täby Chess Team Qualifies for National Championship

Our senior school students have been crowned Stockholm champions after a brilliant performance at the Skollag-DM chess tournament. The team has now qualified for the Swedish Schools Team Championship later this spring.

IES Täby team competed in six intense rounds of team chess at the Stockholm District Championship (Skollag-DM) for senior schools. In a field of 25 competing teams, our students demonstrated exceptional focus, teamwork, and tactical skill throughout the tournament.

It was a long and demanding day of concentration that lasted until the final games. The team handled the pressure brilliantly, showing strong preparation and impressive resilience when it mattered most.

With this outstanding performance, the team has now qualified for Skollags-SM (the Swedish Schools Team Championship), which will take place at Söraskolan in Åkersberga on 9–10 May 2026.
