Thank you to you, Guardians, who was able to attend the parent meeting on August 27. It means a lot to us to meet you and to maintain a close dialogue about the students’ schooling and well-being. Again, please promote reading at home and of course the books they borrow from our library is ok to bring home.
We have had a wonderful start to the school year! The students have been happy and shown great focus and calm during lessons. During the first weeks we have also had several excursions and team-building activities that have strengthened the sense of community in the classes. During breaks, students have been active outdoors, and our new Student Break activity room on floor 5 has quickly become very popular – especially the shuffleboard, which has already become a favorite also amongst the girls.
This coming Wednesday we will take part in “Dance for Life” outdoors, to recognize World Suicide Prevention Day. It will be an opportunity to combine joy in movement with an important message.
As part of our work to promote safety and community, the student health team will once a month be present on the 4th floor to organize activities connected to the monthly theme from our Plan Against Abusive Treatment.
On Wednesday, October 1, we are looking forward to the Autumn Fair, organized by the PTA. It will be a day full of fun activities and lots of good things to buy. All proceeds go directly to the students’ PTA fund, which contributes to excursions, the Year 9 prom, and other school trips that the students themselves wish for. The PTA is still looking for more engaged parents to join and contribute to their valuable work for our students.
Finally, I must say how proud I am of our kind and ambitious students. Their engagement, curiosity, and joy have given us a very positive start to this school year.
