Meet one of our Student Care Coordinators!
My name is Ms Johansson and I work as a Student Care Coordinator in F-5. I have worked at the school since August 2021 when I started working as an after-school teacher at Fritids and later as Head of Fritids. I have worked as a Student Care Coordinator since the beginning of 2025.
What does a Student Care Coordinator do?
The role has many different areas of responsibility as you largely oversee the work with student health in the grades you are responsible for. Day to day I have direct responsibility for our personal assistants and the students they care for. I also provide special education and test support to students who have action plans, which is a large part of the work week. In addition to this, I work in the school's Care and Development team where we work both long-term with various projects to develop the school from a student health perspective and with supporting students and teachers during the school day when needed. As part of the student health team, I also meet with all other members of the student health team several times a week during meetings with the aim of maintaining and developing the school's student health system to ensure that all students receive the support and help they need and are entitled to.
What does a day at work look like?
A typical day is filled with lessons, either in special groups, one-on-one tutoring or exam support in my study garden, Sunflower, in the J Building. Student health meetings also take place many days a week.
What is the best thing about your job?
My job has many wonderful and developing aspects, but the absolute best is the meeting with students that takes place in Sunflower. Seeing students realize their true potential and witnessing their development on a daily basis is fantastic.
What do you think makes our school a good school?
The care and attitude of doing absolutely everything we can for every single student that permeates the entire work of the school and the staff in general. It makes the work enormously easier to have a solution-oriented workplace and also makes it a safe and developing place to be!
