Meet our Heads of House!
We have four Houses - Aqua, Ignis, Terra and Ventus. Let’s find out more!
We have asked some questions to our Heads of House for House Aqua and House Ventus!
Who are you and what do you work with?
My name is Mr Johansson (yes, my first name really is Mr) and I work as a social pedagogue here at school and I’m Head of House Aqua! And my name is Ms Schutte and I teach Art and Crafts to Years 4 and 5, also Music to Year 3’s and I’m Head of House Ventus!
What are the Houses?
The Houses are a way to rather than divide the school into different teams, it is a way to unite the school with a kindred, fun and engaging kind of spirit! The Houses thus allow for students (and staff members alike) to get to know one another and then to expand their social circles!
What do the different names mean?
The names are derived from Latin, they are the four core elements.
Aqua = water. Ignis = fire. Terra = earth. Ventus = air.
How do you collect House Points?
By being an example to the students, showing them how to treat each other kindly and with respect. Helping each other with different aspects in everyday school life. Being involved during lesson time and giving your best during all lessons. The school as a whole works with a focus on KIND (Kommunikation, Integrity, Nyfikenhet and Determination), follow along with that and then go the extra mile and the House Points are yours.
What can you do with the points?
Depending on the Year group that you are in you may use the House Points for different things - ranging from House Raffles to the House Shop!
Do you have any activities?
We have a variety of activities planned for the academic year. Most activities that encompass the school as a whole are all our doing. Be so the dress-up days, various competitions or otherwise activities.
What is the best thing about being Head of House?
Being part and playing a small role in creating our school culture and being at the forefront of making activities happen and to be allowed to tap into the FUN that is all around and always present!
What would you say makes our school a great school?
YOU and being a family.
Thank you, Mr Johansson and Ms Schutte!
