IES Skellefteå International School follows the Cambridge International curriculum, which differs from the Swedish national programme.

Therefore, admission is open only to students who meet at least one of the following criteria:
• Temporarily residing in Sweden (e.g., expat families, short-term residents)
• Previously attended school abroad and wish to complete their education in Sweden
• Planning to move abroad and need an internationally recognized curriculum
• English as a daily language (at least one parent/guardian is a native English speaker)

These rules are set by the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) for international schools in Sweden.

Students who do not meet these criteria are warmly welcomed to apply to IES Skellefteå, which follows the Swedish curriculum with a strong international profile.
