The Year 9's Prom

Take a trip through time and space with our year 9's.

Let’s go back in time to 1920’s Hollywood!

Or at least that’s what our year 9’s did for their prom, and they truly went all out to dress for the occasion. We got to see everything from silk dresses to fancy hats and even the occasional feather!

The evening has been carefully planned and executed by the year 9’s themselves as well as their mentors, and different groups of students were in charge of different things such as decorating, shopping and the voting for Prom King and Queen.

The hard work paid off as everyone had a blast whether they were enjoying some snacks, taking pictures by the photo wall, dancing or joining in on the different activities that were happening. Some of those activities were an intense game of Musical Chairs, some fun (and slightly sweaty) rounds of Just Dance and a spontaneous game of Maffia. 

A few of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of Prom King and Queen, as well as the runner ups for the titles, and also a concert put on by three of the year 9’s as well as their mentor Mr Guerra.

Of course we take the security of an event like this very seriously, and had the fortunate luck of our P.E. teacher Mr Ramiro agreeing to act as security guard for the evening. He kept track of everyone who entered and left the premises and made sure no funny business was going on.

Overall the evening was a success and everyone went home with a smile on their face!
