Then it’s time to choose a school! Between 28 September and 11 October 2026, the school placement process for the 2027/2028 academic year is open in Östersund Municipality.

Internationella Engelska Skolan Östersund is a bilingual Swedish school with an international profile, welcoming students from preschool class to Year 9 (F–9).

At Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES), we firmly believe that a safe and calm school environment with clear structures is essential for learning. That is why we place great emphasis on creating a secure and well-ordered daily routine—both inside and outside the classroom.

Up to half of our teaching is conducted in English. For our younger students, English is introduced gradually as they grow more comfortable. Of course, your child does not need to speak English when they start with us—it is our job to teach them!

To apply to IES Östersund, you need to:
1) Select our school via the municipality's web portal by 11 October at the latest
2) Register your child in our queue with this link
