IES Österåker Hosts Second Annual Track and Field Day

Students at IES Österåker came together in the sunshine for a day of teamwork, sportsmanship, and house pride at our second annual Track and Field Day.

On Thursday, 17 September, our entire school community gathered for our second annual Track and Field Day. It was a sun-filled day full of energy, with students cheering on their classmates as they represented their house and competed for house points.

The event is an important part of our Year 8 physical education curriculum, which focuses on developing students' ability to plan, carry out, and evaluate different activities. Our Year 8 students took ownership of the day by leading and managing the main stations: long jump, sprint, high jump, middle distance, shot put, relay race, and the traditional house run.

In addition to the athletic events, students also enjoyed a trial run and nature walk through Hackstaskogen, combining physical effort with time spent outdoors together.
