What did you do before you started at IES Norrtälje?
I worked as a youth worker/resource person at Innovitaskolan in Färsna, Norrtälje.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The children. Being there for them in their social interactions and their active and pedagogical learning. Being present!

What are you most looking forward to when the school has opened?
New challenges, a new environment, new children, new colleagues, and being able to speak English in my work as I have a ten-year background after living in North East England.

Which one is your favourite song right now?
"This is now" by Ann Wilson & Tripsitter. Ann Wilson (lead singer of the rock band Heart) is in my opinion one of the best rock singers still active today.

Do you have any pets?
Two dogs: a German Shepherd and a Spinone Italiano.

Tell something about yourself not many people know.
When I worked at security control at Arlanda in 1990-95, a colleague and I had VIP control over actor Dennis Hopper (from the film "Easy Rider") and we talked about films for at least 15 minutes.

What was your favourite subject in school?
Geography, history, art.

Do you have any dreams for the future?
To travel more.

What do you do outside of work?
I try to get to the gym now and then. I watch Premier League football and follow my favourite teams Chelsea and Hammarby. I listen to music, mainly 70s-80s rock, and spend time with my family.

What do you do to peak the children's interest and desire to learn new things?
By being curious, attentive and alert.

What is your favourite memory with your students?
Chess Final in Västerås a few years ago. Out of about 120 teams, ours came in a respectable 56th place.
