Who is Eszter Trautmann?

It's time to get to know all the teachers and staff at IES Norrtälje! Next up is our special needs educator Eszter Trautmann.

What did you do before you started at IES Norrtälje?
After getting my degree I have been volunteering for one year in Delsbo. After that me and my husband moved to Sweden. After learning Swedish I started to work at a special school where I have been working for the last 6 years.

What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is that I can see the students develop and grow up to be the best version of themselves.

What are you most looking forward to in the autumn?
I'm looking forward to getting to know the students, their caretaker(s) and my colleagues.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a cat. We adopted him four years ago. He is 14 years old and lives to cuddle with us.

Tell something about yourself not many people know.
As I'm getting older I start to be afraid of heights.

What was your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject in school was literature.

Do you have any dreams for the future?
I wish to live in a world where everyone accepts each other.

What do you do outside of work?
I like to read and currently I'm learning to drive.

What do you do to peak the children's interest and desire to learn new things?
I try to involve them in their studies through continuous conversation and evaluation of the lessons.

What is your favourite memory with your students?
My favourite memories are occasions when students have learned something new and seemed to feel proud of themselves.
