Year 6 students have recently been working on the book A Monster Calls in their English lessons. The book touches on several themes that provide good opportunities to talk about feelings, difficult situations and mental health. School counsellor, Mr Högkvist, has also been visiting with these classes discussing with the students different themes regarding mental health.

As part of the work, the students have created posters about different aspects of mental health. The task has encouraged reflection, creativity and important discussions in the classroom.

The project has contributed to many engaged and thoughtful conversations where the students have had the opportunity to share thoughts and perspectives on topics that are important both in school and in life outside the classroom.
