Our Commitment to Fundamental Values (Grundläggande värden)

At our school, the Grundläggande värden—democracy, human rights, equality, and respect for each individual—are not just words in a document. They are the foundation of everything we do, guiding our teaching, our relationships, and the way we shape our school environment.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Welcome from the principal

Dear students, parents, guardians, and friends of our school,

As we step into a new school year, I am excited for all the learning, laughter, and growth ahead. School is not only a place where we build knowledge — it’s where we shape the kind of people we want to become.

At our school, ethical values are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that academic success means little without empathy, integrity, and respect. The Swedish curriculum (Lgr22) reminds us in Chapter 1 that education rests on the foundation of democracy — that every person has equal value, that we show solidarity with others, and that we protect freedom, dignity, and human rights. Chapter 2 challenges us to give students real influence over their learning, to nurture their sense of responsibility, and to make school a place where they feel they belong and their voices matter.
In our school, character education is more than just words — it’s woven into everyday life:
We listen and care. Whether in the classroom or on the playground, we practice seeing the world through someone else’s eyes and treating one another with kindness.

We take responsibility. From helping to keep our school tidy to leading student council projects, our students learn that their actions make a difference.

We talk about values. Big or small, we explore questions about right and wrong, fairness, and what it means to be a good friend and citizen.

We work together with families. Education works best when school and home share the same values, so we treasure your involvement — whether in meetings, celebrations, or simply conversations at the school gate.

Our vision is simple: that every child leaves our school not only smarter, but stronger in character — ready to contribute to a world that needs thoughtful, compassionate, and responsible people.
Here’s to a year of learning, growing, and becoming our very best selves — together.

Warmly,

Donald Christian
