In the subject of Swedish, we equip your children with the most important tools to succeed in school, achieve success in their professional lives and grow as thinking individuals in society. Our teaching is broad and varied, designed to give students a strong foundation in both oral and written communication, as well as a critical approach to information.
We work continuously to develop students' ability to produce different types of texts, from argumentative and investigative texts to creative writing tasks. By reading different texts, both classic titles mixed with modern works, we actively train reading comprehension and the ability to see connections.
In the classroom, we discuss, analyze and reflect on important issues in society using literature as input. We focus on vocabulary and language use to give students a rich and precise language.
For our students in SVA (Swedish as a Second Language), we place great importance on building prior understanding to facilitate both reading and writing development.
Speaking in front of others is an important part of the teaching. Students are continuously given practice in making oral presentations and discussing current topics in a respectful and constructive manner.
A central part is also the work on source criticism. In a digitalized world, it is crucial to be able to examine information critically. We work with digital tools but also with the pen to ensure that students master communication in all its forms. In addition, we work together with images and text in various projects to show how different means of expression interact.
All our work aims to prepare students for adult life in society. Our belief is that the Swedish subject provides tools to influence the world, achieve success in professional life and grow as a person.
