INTERNATIONELLA ENGELSKA SKOLAN

Our Commitment to Fundamental Values (Grundläggande värden)

At our school, the Grundläggande värden—democracy, human rights, equality, and respect for each individual—are not just words in a document. They are the foundation of everything we do, guiding our teaching, our relationships, and the way we shape our school environment.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

School Food

A tasty, nutritious and healthy lunch plays an important role in enjoying a happy and productive day at school.

We have our own kitchen and kitchen staff, and they offer delicious freshly cooked food every day. Everything is made from scratch, including our own sourdough bread several days per week. We also offer a large selection of salads, milk, crisp bread and fruit every day.

Students eat in the dining hall with their class and their teachers.

The founder of Internationella Engelska Skolan, Ms Barbara Bergström, has emphasised the importance of nutrition in an educational environment for many years.

We focus on school food in our school and always offer several dishes, including a vegetarian alternative.

We have no problem catering for allergies.  If a special diet is required for medical reasons (ie food allergy or other illness), the special diet and a certificate from a doctor or dietician should be submitted to the school nurse. Guardians are responsible for ensuring that the school always has up-to-date information about the need for any special diet. We have a strict NO NUT policy in the school.

How we bake our sourdough bread

At IES Nacka, we bake our sourdough bread from scratch several times a week. In this video, you'll see our head chef Mr Ström talk about the importance of using good ingredients. He will also show you exactly how the bread is made.
