Erasmus update February 2026 - Conflict Management
Conflict Management in Schools: eguideline and website
We are pleased to announce the official launch of our eGuideline and website: www.conflictmanagementinschools.com, a collaborative platform designed to support schools in understanding, preventing, and managing conflict.
This initiative is a joint effort between Rifat Dagdelen, IESL teachers, and Erasmus students, whose combined experiences have shaped a practical, student-centered approach to conflict management in schools.
Who Is It For
The guideline is aimed at teachers and school leaders. It is also relevant for student support teams and Erasmus coordinators. Students interested in peer mediation can benefit from it as well. Overall, it is suitable for any school committed to wellbeing, inclusion, and positive relationships.
Purpose of the Project
Conflict is a natural part of school life. When handled constructively, it becomes an opportunity for growth, empathy, and stronger relationships. The goal of this project is to provide schools with tools to prevent and de-escalate conflicts, encourage respectful communication, and foster inclusive and emotionally safe learning environments. Rather than seeing conflict as a disciplinary problem, schools are encouraged to view it as a learning opportunity that strengthens community and understanding.
E-Guideline: Conflict Management in Schools
At the core of the website is the E-Guideline on Conflict Management in Schools, developed through international collaboration and classroom experience. The guideline supports schools in applying restorative practices, empowering students as peacebuilders, and creating structured approaches that help staff and students respond constructively to challenges.
A Collaborative Erasmus Effort
This project reflects the spirit of Erasmus cooperation. Students and teachers worked across cultures to share experiences, identify common challenges, and develop practical strategies suitable for everyday classroom situations. The result is a resource grounded in authenticity, inclusivity, and student voice.
