National Test Grade and Upper Secondary Program Eligibility

Strong results on National Tests

In English, all our students passed the national test, with an impressive 96% achieving a grade of C or higher. Our average grade score of 18.7 is the highest in the region, demonstrating that our teaching methods really deliver results.

In mathematics, where 94% of students passed, we also see strong outcomes. Almost half of our students achieved a grade of C or higher, something we are very proud of. Our average grade score of 13.0 is higher than both the independent and municipal schools in Karlstad.

In Swedish, our students perform at a high level as well. All students passed the national exam, and 95% received a grade of C or higher, with an average grade score of 16.6.

In Swedish as a second language, we are proud that all students passed, and that 74% of them achieved a grade of C or higher. These results reflect our commitment to supporting all students, regardless of background, to succeed.

Broad Eligibility for Upper Secondary Programs – A World of Opportunities

At IES Karlstad, we strive to give all students a strong academic foundation. This is reflected in our upper secondary school eligibility results, where our students achieve the highest eligibility in the region:

• Vocational programs: 97.2% of our students are eligible, compared to 80.8% in Värmland County.
• Natural Science and Technology programs: 96.4% of our students are eligible, significantly higher than the county average.
• Aesthetic program: 96.6% of our students are eligible, which is a strong result.
• Social Science, Humanities, and Economics programs: With 94.1% eligible students, we surpass both independent and municipal schools in Karlstad.
